The Building Enclosure Council (BEC) is proud to announce the formation of its 26th local chapter: BEC-San Antonio. Formed as a subcommittee of American Institute of Architects (AIA) San Antonio, the new BEC will start its life with a general interest kick-off meeting on February 23, from noon until 1 p.m., at the AIA San Antonio Center for Architecture, 200 East Grayson Street, Ste. 110. BEC-National Co-Chair, Fiona Aldous, will introduce the group and explain the interdisciplinary nature and workings of the BECs. Like all of the councils, BEC-San Antonio will welcome architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, consultants, facility managers, code officials, educators and anyone else with a stake in high-performance and energy-efficient buildings for a lively information exchange on building enclosure issues pertinent to the unique qualities of San Antonio, Texas, and its surroundings. If you would like to attend the meeting, please RSVP to Paula Smart. Lunch will be provided. For more information on all the BEC Chapters, visit www.bec-national.org.
