The Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC) focuses on the "skin" of the building, known as the building enclosure system, and how improving the performance of building envelope components and systems impacts the environment. BETEC promotes effective cooperation among the public and private interests that work to make homes and buildings more energy efficient and environmentally responsible.
BETEC and the American Institute of Architects also established the Building Enclosure Council (BEC) in major cities across the United States as a forum for the construction industry to address building enclosures.
