HUD Calls for American Housing Survey Papers

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Policy Development & Research invites scholars to propose research papers for presentation at the 2nd Annual American Housing Survey User Conference, to be held in the spring of 2012, in Washington, D.C.

The purpose of the user conference is to highlight recent research results based on American Housing Survey (AHS) data. The survey provides a thorough look at American homes, revealing everything from square footage to how many homes have porches, garages or fireplaces. First conducted in 1973, the survey's long-term design allows analysts to trace the characteristics of U.S. housing units and their occupants.

Presentations should apply the special features of the AHS datasets to issues of current interest. The deadline for submission is August 31, 2011. Get the details.
